‘The Spectrums’ performs at ‘Battle of the Bands

Mokokchung’s ‘The Spectrums’ was invited as guest performers at the much-anticipated ‘Battle of the Bands – Beat Contest’ for college and higher secondary students organized by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) in association with TaFMA. The event was held on 9 September 2023 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma.

Euphonic, a band from Patkai Christian College, Chümoukedima, won the ‘Battle of the Bands’ and received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. Stereo Groove from Clark Theological College, Mokokchung, and The Hope Maverick from Hope Academy, Chümoukedima, secured the second and third positions, winning Rs 70,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively.

Five consolation prize winners – ‘Front Fern’ from Queen Mary Hr. Sec. School, Mokokchung; Wangngai Band from Wangkhao Government College, Mon; DPSD from DPS School, Dimapur; The Cassiopeiae from Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur; and Call of Sublime from Tetso College Dimapur—each received Rs 10,000.

The judging panel included Moanungsang, Alobo Naga, and Iuli. It is worth noting that Ambong Band from Mokokchung won the “Battle of the Bands” in 2022.
