Mokokchung, November 27 (MTNews): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K Therie has said that “fear factor” is pressing innocent intending candidates to seek BJP tickets. He said that this “fear” is a huge mistake, one that it will be very difficult to recover from for generations to come “as long as Christianity continues in Nagaland.”
Dispelling all fears, Therie also said that “fear of starvation of funds to the State is foolishness” and explained that all schemes that are passed through Constitutional provisions will flow normally.
Therie went on to say that the “Finance Commission award” given under Article 280 is released at midnight on 1st of the month to the states. “No one can stop it. The share of the state in the Union Ministries is also well defined and no state can be denied its dues,” he stated.
“As a tribal state, we also enjoy Art 275(1) providing funds for improvement of tribal areas. In addition to the State List, Nagaland has Article 371(A). Nagaland is the most powerful state after the removal of Art 370 from J&K,” Therie added.
Stating that people should drop the “mentality of slavery” and instead build a strong government “to deliver justice, provide safety and security to life and property, build our own resources to become self-content and work for the welfare of people.”
He also took a jibe at the BJP saying that it is ruling with the help of CBI, NIA, ED and EVMs. “Therefore, criminals and the corrupt need shelter from BJP because of their crimes. However, we cannot continue to suffer under the dictates of the BJP with their motive of Hindutva,” Therie said.
Therie then pointed out that among 28 States in the Indian Union, there are 13 BJP ruled states, 13 non-BJP ruled States and 2 Congress ruled States. He also said that Nitish Kumar coming out from the BJP Alliance and forming JDU and RJD Government in Bihar is a clear example. “In Nagaland 48 Regional MLAs are prisoners of corruption chained by CBI, ED and NIA,” Therie remarked, and wondered why the BJP government which they support files ED cases against them.
Therie concluded by asking why people should vote for criminals. “They should first come out clean to seek votes,” Therie said.
