A three-day national workshop on “Histochemical Techniques and Systematics in Biological Sciences” was inaugurated on March 11 at the Department of Zoology, Nagaland University. The workshop will continue until March 13.

The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. Ramita Sougrakpam, while the Vice-Chancellor, Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, attended as the Chief Guest. In the welcome address, Prof. Ranjit Kumar, Head of the Department of Zoology, highlighted the importance of histochemical techniques in understanding cellular structures and identifying cellular stages that can aid in the early detection and study of diseases such as cancer.
Prof. Bendang Ao, Convenor of the workshop, noted that such programmes provide an important platform for participants to enhance their knowledge and gain practical insights.
Prof. Patnaik appreciated the initiative taken by the department and encouraged organisers to conduct similar workshops on a larger scale to promote academic exchange and collaboration among scholars from different institutions.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Rajesh Singh, Co-Convenor of the workshop.
