A three-day workshop focused on inclusive teaching strategies, organized by the Department of School Education (DoSE) Nagaland, ChangeInkk Foundation, and Durham University, UK, commenced on August 21 at the Morung Conference Hall, Directorate of School Education in Kohima. The workshop is led by Dr Johny Daniel, an International expert and Assistant Professor at the School of Education, Durham University, UK, and aims to equip educators with the skills necessary to create inclusive classrooms, particularly for students with language learning difficulties and Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD).

Thavaseelan K, IAS, Principal Director of the Department of School Education, Nagaland, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of inclusive education in the state. The event also saw participation from officials of Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland, the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, GoN, and the SCERT-ECCE Cell Team.

The workshop began with a welcome address by  Sayantani Gaddam, Senior Fellow, Policy Program and Governance, ChangeInkk Foundation, while Mughato Swu moderated the session.

A total of 50 selected teachers from government and private schools in Kohima are participating in this workshop series, marking a significant step toward enhancing the quality of education for all learners in Nagaland.
