The Tikhir community has been officially recognized as a separate Naga tribe, more than two months after the government of Nagaland announced it. Tikhir Tribe Recognition Day was celebrated on Saturday at Kiusam Headquarters. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has assured full cooperation and support in achieving the ambitions and aspirations of the Tikhir tribe. Taking to Twitter, Rio also expressed immense joy and heartfelt wishes to the Tikhir community on being accorded the status of a separate Naga Tribe.
