Mokokchung, February 9 (MTNews): Intending NDPP candidate for the seat of 24 Angetyongpang AC, Tongpang Ozukum on Thursday stated that, the time has come to redefine the importance of the 24 Angetyongpang AC in the political map of Nagaland.
In his address to the people of Longkong Village and its constituents on the first day of his declaration tour, the intending candidate expressed his gratitude to the people for placing their trust in him in the last election.
Ozukum stated that the time has come to redefine the importance of the 24 Angetyongpang AC in the political map of Nagaland and urged the people to lend him their support once again to accomplish bigger objectives for the constituency and Nagaland in general.
According to a press release received here, Ozukum kicked off his election campaign on February 9. On the first day, the NDPP candidate travelled to Longkong and Chakpa village. “He was accompanied by party workers of NDPP and Mokokchung District BJP officials and well-wishers,” it said.
Moyalepten, village Council Chairman, Longkong Medemsanger Putu Menden, in his welcome address said that the declaration program is an opportunity for the constituents to voice their dissatisfaction directly to the intending candidate if at all there is any. “However, Ozukum had abided by the wishes of the Villagers in the last term and we have no complaints to make to the minister,” the release quoted the chairman as saying.
Additional speeches were also made by NDPP, Mokokchung region President, N Bendang Jamir, Vice President, BJP, Mokokchung District, P Lanutoshi, it said.
Later in the day, during his address at Chakpa Village, Ozukum appealed to the people not to judge him for his three years stint in office as two precious years were spent on the pandemic. Furthermore, he pleaded with the people for their support once more so that he can deliver on his promises.
Short speeches were also delivered by officials of NDPP, Mokokchung region, BJP, Mokokchung District and Vice President of central women organization NDPP Nagaland, President Phagsang Area Telongjem, Mr. Nangshi, Village Council members of Chakpa Village and other dignitaries.
