In a one-sided showdown, Titans CC emerged victorious in the 32nd Inter Club Cricket Tournament organized by the Mokokchung District Cricket Association (MDCA) under the aegis of Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), defeating Trebuchet CC in the final on Saturday at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung. Titans secured a resounding win by 7 wickets, successfully chasing down the target of 97 runs in just 11 overs.

After a remarkable journey through the tournament, Titans CC reached the final with three consecutive victories. Longsasunep played a pivotal role in the final, scoring an unbeaten 39 runs in 21 balls, steering Titans to triumph with 2 fours and 4 sixes. Andrew contributed 29 runs, including 5 fours and 1 six, before being dismissed. The team lost 3 wickets in the process.

On the bowling front, Chubaodang, Bablu Deka, and Mudassir claimed 1 wicket each for Trebuchet.

Earlier in their innings, Trebuchet, having won the toss and elected to bat first, compiled a total of just 96 runs in 16.1 overs, losing all ten wickets. Mudassir made a significant contribution with 41 runs, while Temsutoshi added 12 runs to the scoreboard.

Titans’ Longsasunep excelled in the bowling department, picking up 4 wickets for 19 runs, supported by Toshimeren with 3 wickets for 22 runs, and Tongpang with 2 wickets for 1 run.

Longsasunep walked away with almost all the awards as his outstanding performance earned him multiple accolades, including Man of the Match in both the final and semi-final, the Highest Wicket-Taker with 12 wickets, and the Player of the Tournament. He also scored 67 runs in the tournament.

Salangdangba of Sovran CC received the title of Most Promising Player, while Mudassir of Trebuchet was honored as the Highest Run-Getter of the tournament, amassing 153 runs in 4 matches.

With this victory, Titans CC achieved a winning hat trick, securing the tournament title for the third consecutive edition.

The closing function, held at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, was graced by the presence of Dr Maongtemjen, Deputy Librarian, NU, Lumami.
