Follow up on Nagaland CM’s letter to Tamil Nadu CM for plot of land

Mokokchung, February 14 (MTNews): Nagaland Minister of PWD (Housing and Mechanical), met the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, at his office chamber at St.George Fort, Chennai on 14th February 2022, for allotment of a plot of land at Vellore for construction of Naga Patient House. A report from the Nagaland Minister’s office said that the Chief Minister of Nagaland had, earlier on February 1, wrote to his Tamil Nadu counterpart for allotment of a plot of land, “understanding the problems and hardship faced by the patients going to Vellore for medical treatment due to lack of proper accommodation at both Vellore and Chennai.”
The report further said that the visit was “a follow up” to the Nagaland Chief Minister’s communication with his Tamil Nadu counterpart, where Tongpang Ozukum and his delegation met the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, as well as, the Secretary PWD Housing, Tamil Nadu, Member Secretary of Chennai Municipal Development Authority (CMDA) and also officials of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB).
The team also visited a plot at Velachery, which is nearby the airport, for Nagaland House in Chennai. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, was said to have assured the delegation to “look into the matter and also directed the officials if the delegation wished to visit Vellore and other places,” the report added.
During the interaction, it was reported that Tongpang Ozukum also thanked the Tamil Nadu government for helping the Naga community during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown by arranging transportation for more than two thousand stranded Nagas who were brought to the train station from different places spread across Tamil Nadu, for returning to Nagaland.
“The delegation presented gift packets of home grown Naga Coffee, Naga Honey and a souvenir of Nagaland State Logo (Mithun),” the report further said. Tongpang Ozukum was accompanied by Saravana IPS, Special Secretary, Home, Government of Nagaland; Thavaseelan IAS, DC Mon; Er. Ketousielie Kenguruse, EE PWD Estate Division; and Repa Ozukum, PA to the Minister, PWD (Housing and Mechanical).
