Tongti Village, located under the Yanmhon Area in Bhandari Constituency, Wokha, was formally inaugurated on November 7 by Achumbemo Kikon, MLA and Chairman of the SDPDB Bhandari, during the annual Tokhü Emong Festival celebrations. The inauguration was also attended by Y Patton, Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland.
Rev Fr George Antony, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church in Bhandari Town, dedicated the Monolith Stone at the event.
Patton hosted the Tokhü Emong celebrations and emphasized the importance of unity and forgiveness. Achumbemo Kikon, the special guest at the festival, highlighted the developmental initiatives undertaken in the Bhandari Constituency in his address. He was accompanied by Peter Lichamo, IAS (Retd Home Secretary), and Renphamo Kikon (Retd Additional Director, Agriculture Department).
The event was led by Thungdemo Tungoe, Chairman of Ruchan Village Council. The invocation was pronounced by Samuel Mozhui from Longjung Village, while a cultural dance was performed by the Liphi Village Cultural Troupe.
Mathew Humtsoe, President of YAPO, delivered an exhortation, and Tachow Lotha, Chairman of BTLH, shared the story and significance of Tokhü Emong. The event concluded with a special number by Yantsuthung Yanthan. The vote of thanks was delivered by Chenirao Khenchung, Ex-President of YAPO.
