Okusa Toyota has marked its physical presence in the Mokokchung market with the inauguration of a T-Sparsh counter in Sungkomen ward, Mokokchung, today. This inauguration comes after Toyota recorded its highest-ever monthly vehicle sales in January 2024 in India, with 24,609 units.
Y Vikheho Swu, MD of Okusa Toyota, told Mokokchung Times that although the facility in Mokokchung is not yet a showroom (designated as T-Sparsh), he said it will bring Toyota closer to its customers. “Toyota’s goal is to reach closer to its customers by catering to their sales and service needs at their doorsteps. The objective is also to cater to smaller towns through T-Sparsh and thus expand its customer base,” he said.
The T-Sparsh counter is a dedicated facility designed to provide a personalized and seamless experience for customers visiting. It serves as a one-stop solution for all sales-related queries, ensuring the utmost convenience and satisfaction for Toyota owners and enthusiasts.
According to Swu, in the T-Sparsh facility in Mokokchung, although the display of cars will be minimal due to space constraints, all kinds of Toyota cars manufactured and marketed in India will be made available for delivery to customers.
Elaborating on the service, Chuba Longkumer, GEM, said that they will be providing services including vehicle exchange and servicing of the vehicles every two months. He also said that purchased vehicles will reach Mokokchung free of cost and will also aid customers with bank finances free of cost.
Since 2014, Toyota has been working on its Northeast operations to strengthen its presence in the region, as the Northeast market accounted for 20 percent of the Japanese car maker’s sales in the eastern part of India, and the company’s sales in the Northeast were growing by 6 per cent.
Swu said that the reason the company chose to come to Mokokchung after Kohima and Dimapur in Nagaland is due to Mokokchung’s close proximity to Assam and its central location relative to several other districts.
Although not present at the inauguration ceremony, Swu, through a written statement, said, “Mokokchung facilitates market and other day-to-day needs for other districts like Tuensang, Longleng, Zunheboto, and to some extent Wokha. This is a plus point for all of us.”
He further continued that because he observes people of Mokokchung to be simple, practical, honest, and hardworking, he believes that a stable business can grow in places such as Mokokchung.
Swu also encouraged people to learn the art of doing business with banks and urged young and old to avail themselves of bank facilities while asking banks in Mokokchung to extend help to the people of the district.
The inauguration was also attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, and representatives from various banks.
