In a heartbreaking incident, two students were found hanging from a tree in what appeared to be a case of suicide in Thahekhu village, Dimapu. The deceased have been identified as Zungkam Yimkhuing, 16, from Kuthur village, and Tokivi Yeptho, 19, from Khatara village in Zunheboto district. Both were reported to be close friends and classmates at Thahekhu Government High School, where they were studying in Class 6.
Their bodies were discovered in the morning of August 11 by a passerby. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the school and the villages, with many struggling to come to terms with the loss of two young lives.
