Neken Kichu, Assistant Fishery Inspector, Mokokchung, served as the resource person during the training. He highlighted the benefits of integrated fish and livestock farming, discussed the composite fish farming method, and emphasized the significance of proper pond management.

“During my visit to different places, I have noticed that we fish farmers practice a very poor pond management that’s why we are behind the mainland fish farmers; the only solution for our farmers is to shelve the old traditional farming and practice proper pond management,” he said.

A total of 87 individuals and self-help groups (SHGs) benefited from the training program.

The event was organized by the Community Educational Centre Society under its flagship program ‘Integrated Tribal Development Fund’. The program received support from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Regional Office, Dimapur.
