A one-day training programme on Climate-Resilient Horticulture (CRH) in Nagaland was organised on February 14, 2026, at Murise Village under Dhansiripar RD Block in Dimapur district.
The programme was organised by the Centre for Livelihood Alternatives and Promotion Foundation (CLAP Foundation), a national-level organisation engaged in promoting sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture, diversified livelihoods, and entrepreneurship. The training was supported by the Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Dimapur, with the objective of strengthening farmers’ capacity to adapt horticultural practices to changing climatic conditions.
The training focused on practical approaches to climate-resilient horticulture, including improved crop management practices, efficient water use, soil health management, and the adoption of climate-smart technologies to address challenges caused by erratic rainfall, temperature variations, and extreme weather events. Emphasis was also placed on the impact of climate change on horticultural crops, mitigation measures, revised packages of practices, and crop diversification as important adaptation strategies.
A total of 50 farmers from Dhansiripar block took part in the programme. The sessions were interactive, with participants sharing field-level experiences and challenges, which added practical value to the discussions.
The training was facilitated by Samsing Taro, Officer-in-Charge, Spice Board of India, Dimapur, and Ariba Anar, State Coordinator, North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation. The programme helped build awareness and practical skills among farmers to improve productivity, strengthen climate resilience, and enhance livelihood security.
