Ayulcr Tea Private Limited and Tea Board of India conducted organic tea farming, quality control and certification training on 12th May 2022 at Akumen village, Mokokchung District with Kamal Mazumdar, Development Officer, Tea Board of India as the resource person.
The resource person spoke about the quality of organic tea over quantity in traditional tea farming, which not only has high demand in the market but has health benefits. He brainstormed the tea growers about using locally available resources to make fertilizer and pesticides to control the disease and not use expensive unhealthy chemicals. He also said under Ayulcr Tea Company, Tea board of India is ready to venture projects and help the Naga tea growers, while inviting interested farmers to register for free training on organic farming in Jorhat Agri College for a week long.
Limanungsang Jamir, the Managing Director of Ayulcr Tea Company encouraged the tea growers to continue expanding the farming area with scope and control the use of chemicals. He also declared that the working of factory setup at Akumen village has begun.
He thanked all the members for attending the training program. More than 60 individual tea growers from Akumen, Tsuremmen, and surrounding regions attended the training program. The event was hosted by Dr. Yanger while welcome speech was delivered by the Village council earlier in the program.
