Mokokchung, 31 May (MTNews): The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Mokokchung, organized a one-day Training Workshop on National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) for Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) Surveillance. The workshop took place on 31 May at the Community Hall in Sangtemla Ward.
The primary objective of the training was to familiarize health workers with the Universal Immunization Program (UIP) and the AEFI surveillance system at both the district and sub-district levels. Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the structures, tools, and roles of different stakeholders involved in the implementation process of Quality Management System (QMS) for AEFI surveillance. Additionally, they worked towards developing a district implementation plan for QMS in AEFI surveillance.
The workshop featured distinguished resource persons, including Dr Longri Kichu from UNICEF and Dr Takosunep, the District Program Officer for Universal Immunization Program (UIP) & Reproductive and Child Health (RCH).
Participants consisted of Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers, Community Health Officers (CHOs), Lady Health Visitors (LHVs), General Nursing Midwives (GNMs), Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), Vaccinators, Block Program Managers (BPM), and Block Accountant Cum Computer Operator (BAC).
