Mokokchung, February 7 (MTNews): The District Planning and Development Boards of Tuensang and Peren districts held their monthly meetings on Wednesday, 7 February, at their respective district headquarters.

The Tuensang DPDB meeting, held at the DC Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, saw active participation from departments. After reviewing previous minutes, the board approved setting up a District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) at the District Hospital.

Dr Senilo Magh, MO, highlighted that the DDRC, an initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, will provide comprehensive services to persons with disabilities. This will be the second such center in Nagaland.

The District Fishery Department presented a PowerPoint presentation on their activities, while the Department of Agriculture will present theirs at the next meeting.

Peren DPDB Meeting

The Peren DPDB meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman Vineet Kumar, began with a welcome address and introduction of new members Dr. Viholi (DPO) and GH Ramlia (NZPO representative).

After reviewing past decisions, the board discussed road connectivity to Peren HQ and mandatory health checkups for government employees. Additionally, the DPDB felicitated four “Girl Child Friendly Villages” under the BBBP initiative: Tening, Old-Puilwa, Samziuram, and Bongkolong Villages.

The house also felicitated Gracious Handloom Society, Ahthibung and Ngurie Organic Private Limited, Jalukie, two startups from Peren District on being selected among the Top 25 startups in the Pre-Incubation Category under the Northeast Entrepreneurship Development Programme (NEEDP).

The Sericulture and Food & Civil Supplies departments presented their activities through PowerPoint presentations. For the next meeting, the DC entrusted the Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Agriculture departments with presentations.
