Responding to a query raised by MLA Nuklutoshi during the 7th session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Rural Development and SIRD Minister Metsubo Jamir informed the House that the Tuli Paper Mill is considering shifting its focus towards ethanol production, which is presently seen as more profitable and economically viable than paper.
Nuklutoshi also raised concerns over the ongoing negotiations between 3A Capital Service Ltd. and the mill workers regarding settlement of pending salaries and dues. He urged the government to intervene and ensure that the overdue payments are cleared.
On this matter, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio assured the House that a committee would be constituted to address all issues relating to the Paper Mill within a specified time frame. Advisor for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, A. Pangjung Jamir, also shared his views on the issue during the discussion.
