Kohima, 12 September (MTNews): In response to a starred question raised by MLA Nukultoshi in the ongoing NLA (Nagaland Legislative Assembly) session regarding the status of the railway station in Tuli, Minister P Paiwang Konyak replied that the Tuli Station was connected with Amguri and served passenger services from December 2002 to July 2007. However, due to limited passenger services, it was discontinued after July 2007.

When asked whether the Railway Station is currently operational, Paiwang stated that it is only open for handling outbound goods and that there is no proposal to extend the railway line from Tuli Station.

Advisor for Information and Public Relations (IPR) and Soil & Water Conservation (S&WC), Imkong L Imchen, highlighted the prevailing notion that employment opportunities for Nagas are primarily perceived as government service positions. He stressed that unless individuals secure government jobs, they are not considered formally employed. Therefore, he suggested that the extension of the railway station to Tuli Town would generate employment.
