Tutheyo Village from Kiphire district represented Nagaland at the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi under a special three day programme organised by the Government of India through the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, National Jal Jeevan Mission.

The programme invited special guests from rural households, poor and marginalised communities, SC and ST majority villages, and vulnerable tribal groups across the country. Tutheyo Village was selected for its recognition as a Swachh Sujal Gaon with Har Ghar Jal certification and ODF Plus Model status.

A beneficiary from the village, along with their spouse, attended as Special Guests. The Village Council Chairman and his wife were accompanied by a district liaison officer. The programme began with arrival and orientation, followed by visits to the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya and a briefing at Antyodaya Bhawan, CGO Complex.

On 26 January 2026, the guests witnessed the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path. The final day included visits to Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra and Raj Ghat, along with an interaction with senior officials. The district shared a testimony on the impact of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the presence of the Hon’ble Minister of Jal Shakti.

PHED Kiphire described the representation as a proud moment for the district and a strong testament to the success of the Jal Jeevan Mission in rural Nagaland.
