Mon, 20 October (MTNews): Two candidates, Wangpang Konyak of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), and Wanglem Konyak of the Indian National Congress (INC), submitted their nomination papers on 19 October for the upcoming bye-election in the 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency. The filing took place at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Mon, under the supervision of Rongsenmenla, Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), who serves as the Returning Officer for the 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency’s bye-election. The submission of nomination papers marks the official commencement of the election process for the vacant Tapi Assembly Constituency seat.
The scrutiny of nominations is scheduled to take place on Saturday, while the final date for the withdrawal of candidature is set for 23 Oct 23. The polling for the Tapi Assembly constituency is slated for 7 Nov, with the counting of votes to be held on 3 December.
