Pune city police arrested four teenage boys, including two minors, for allegedly robbing two Nagaland students at Baner Hill on the evening of September 28, according to Indian Express. The accused, identified as Ajimkya Ashok Bobade (18) of Navi Sangvi and Nikhil Babasaheb Dongre (18) of Aundh, were arrested, while the two minors were detained and sent to an observation home, police said.

The incident came to light when a 19-year-old victim lodged an FIR at the Chaturshringi police station on September 29. The complainant, a second-year BA student at Spicer Adventist University, stated that he and his friend, also 19 and from the same college, were out for an evening walk at Baner Hill when they were attacked around 7:30 pm. The accused reportedly threatened the duo with a sharp weapon, demanding their cell phone and valuables worth Rs 20,000.

When the complainant refused to share his phone’s password, the attackers injured him by targeting his knees. The victim’s cries for help caused the robbers to flee the scene. He later received treatment at a government hospital in Aundh.

“We have arrested the accused and recovered stolen goods, including the mobile phones, a motorcycle, and a machete used in the crime, with a total value of ¹ 1,21,200. Further investigation is underway,” Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bolkotgi of Chaturshringi Police Station was quoted by Free Press Journal as saying.
