Six fighters from The Combat Academy in Nagaland participated in the recent National Selections for MMA and Striking MMA for the GAMMA World Championships 2024 in Indonesia.

The six MMA fighters from Nagaland participated in the National Selections at the Dwarka Auditorium in Bengaluru for the GAMMA World Championships 2024 in Indonesia.

The event was organized by the Federation of Mixed Martial Arts India and took place at the Dwarka Auditorium in Bengaluru on October 5 and 6.

Among the six participants, Atokivi Chishi secured a gold medal in the Bantamweight category for Striking MMA. Kedokietuo Sirie also claimed gold in the 79kg MMA category. Tsenchio Kikon won a silver medal in the 52kg Strawweight Striking MMA category, while Sohilo Yimkhiung earned a bronze in the 70kg division. Wungvamsem Raman, who won his first bout in the 65.8kg MMA selections, unfortunately had to forfeit due to an injury. Additionally, Thanmi Angkang secured a silver medal in the 61.2kg division.

All gold medalists have qualified for the World Championships under the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts and will represent India in their respective weight categories in Indonesia, an update said.
