With a target goal to envelope the three Es – Economy, Ecology and Equity – and to accentuate the idea of tourism in Mokokchung Town, Allen Imti of Longjang village introduced ‘Asameyaa’.
The crux idea of Asameyaa is to rent a bicycle and explore the picturesque beauty of Mokokchung amongst the woods and rivers without any fear of gas emission or abrupt engine trouble.
Aimed towards an ecologically sound and environmentally-friendly establishment, Allen hopes that Mokokchung as a town can contribute and elucidate on a subject that has only been heard of but never made into a reality.
“There is so much to explore in nature here and one cannot intrinsically explore with a car or bike for that matter but with Asameyaa, people can simply rent a cycle and thoroughly enjoy the picturesque beauty of Mokokchung,” he said.
Another reason that inspired Allen to toil with Asameyaa was his desire to bring about a child-like enthusiasm of having fun through open-air activities.
“Before technology took over, people’s idea of fun was an open-air activity. The idea of ‘fun’ was synonymous with ‘to be out in the sun’. However, that enthusiasm and energy dimmed over the years and indoor entertainment completely dawned, which has ultimately made individuals inactive and lethargic,” he observed.
Along with renting cycles, Asameyaa also gives out rentals on adventure related gear or camping equipment like tents, sleeping bags, angling rods, air guns and more.
In his mission to make it a successful experience, he hopes and believes that people of Mokokchung or anyone visiting town would take a moment to visit “Asameyaa” near New Market, above the thrift store, Arkong Ward.
“Just rent a cycle and explore nature to the fullest,” he said, while concluding how excited he is regarding what lies in the future for him and Asameyaa.
