Medziphema, November 11 (MTNews): A review meeting will be held at the Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema, Nagaland, under the Chairmanship of Union Agriculture Secretary Manoj Ahuja on November 12.
According to a press release received here, the union Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in collaboration with the state Department of Horticulture/Agriculture will jointly review and discuss various Schemes implemented in the North Eastern region.
National Mission on Edible Oil – Oil Palm, National Mission of Edible Oilseeds, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY), Formation and Promotion of Farmer Producers Organizations (FPOs), National Bamboo Mission, and National Beekeeping and Honey Mission are among the various schemes (NBHM).
It was also stated that during the review meeting, various issues will be discussed in depth in order to better implement the Centrally Sponsored Schemes and to harness the potential of horticultural crops, oil palm expansion, promotion of organic farming and opportunities for startup, formation of FPOs, marketing, and export opportunities in the North Eastern Region.
The Additional Secretary, Agriculture Commissioner, Horticulture Commissioner, Joint Secretaries, and other Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare officials will attend the program.
Senior officers from all NE states, as well as stakeholders, have been invited to interact with NE states in order to develop strategies and address issues concerning agricultural and horticulture development in the NE region.
