Mokokchung, October 21 (MTNews): Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala, accompanied by Nagaland Advisor for Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Evaluation Economics and Statistics, L. Khumo, officials from Delhi and Kohima on Friday visited Kiphire district and held interaction with the Heads of Offices and stakeholders of various departments at DC’s Conference Hall, Kiphire in order to review and assess various development projects and schemes implemented under “Aspirational District” program in Kiphire.

 

 

 

According to a DIPR report, the Union Minister during the visit said that he had come to witness an authentic attempt and to review the aspirational district scheme.
“Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had selected Kiphire District as Aspirational District so the people must know their living standards and how far the district is improving,” he said.

 

He further stated that their aim is to focus on the strength of each district to grow together with all the developmental aspects for all. He urged the departments to work harder so that more beneficiaries will be covered and assisted, and requested the Fishery Officer to provide assistance as demanded by the beneficiaries.

 

DC, Kiphire, T. Wati Aier informed that the district is currently ranked at 9th position in the Delta Ranking of the Aspiration Districts. The Union Minister was also apprised of the challenges and difficulties faced by the people of Kiphire due to bad road connectivity.
