As part of his visit to Nagaland, Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Tourism, Suresh Gopi, interacted with district administration officials and heads of various departments at the Police House, Chümoukedima, on February 14, 2025.

During the meeting, Gopi reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to the development of the Northeast, particularly Nagaland, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He urged officials to ensure efficient utilization of the budget for the benefit of every citizen and assured full support for any proposals or projects they present.
Following the meeting, Gopi visited the Naga Heirloom Centre in Sovima, where he observed artisans at work. He expressed admiration for their craftsmanship, describing it as one of the most memorable experiences of his visit. Later, he met Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at his private residence.
The Union Minister was accompanied by Commissioner & Secretary for Art & Culture, Himato Zhimomi; Additional Director T. Kakiho Sumi; Secretary for Tourism, Nchumbemo Lotha; as well as officials from the Chümoukedima administration and other departments.
