I wonder why there is so much jealousy among our Ao Naga brothers and sisters toward their own people. Is this what God desires from us? Don’t you think such attitudes grieve the heart of God? “For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice” (James 3:16). Instead of pulling each other down, God calls us to stand together, to support and uplift one another in love and unity. “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:31-32).
If we truly desire to see our people thrive and progress, let us refrain from tearing one another down. Instead, let us build each other up with love and encouragement. “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). Do not let
envy take root in your hearts, but celebrate and take pride in the unique gifts and talents that God has graciously bestowed upon others. By supporting and uplifting one another, we honor God and pave the way for collective growth and unity.
Look around us—many other tribes lift one another up, celebrating their achievements and successes as a collective victory. They recognize that the progress of one person brings honor to their entire community. Why can’t we learn from them? Instead of competing among ourselves or harboring jealousy, let us embrace the spirit of togetherness and unity. “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another” (Romans 12:15-16).
We are meant to be a light among nations, just as the Israelites were called to be a role model for others. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9). As the first among many to receive the gift of Christianity, we have a responsibility to embody the teachings of Christ—to lead by example, to love without envy, and to walk in harmony as a testimony of God’s grace and calling upon our people.
Let us not squander this sacred responsibility but live in a way that pleases God and honors the blessings He has given us. Let us build a community where love, respect, and encouragement prevail, so that we, too, may glorify God through our unity and faith. If other tribes can support and uplift one another, so can we.
Let us show the world the strength of our bond as Ao Nagas. Together, we can set a powerful example of love and unity, reflecting the heart of Christ to those around us. “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35). A community built on mutual support, encouragement, and faith will not only thrive but will also inspire others to do the same. May we embrace this calling and walk in obedience to God’s will, lifting one another up and glorifying His name through our actions.
Let us commit today to putting aside envy, division, and pride. Instead, may we strive to be a people of peace, humility, and love, bound together in faith and driven by the purpose of glorifying God through our unity and progress. As the Word of God says, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1).
