A State Level Awareness Workshop on the Uttar Poorna Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI-2024) was held at the Directorate of Industries and Commerce on October 24, 2024.
The special guest of the program, Advisor for Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, stated that the workshop was conducted to ensure that the UNNATI Scheme makes a positive impact in the state. Jakhalu emphasized that entrepreneurs, the business community, and other stakeholders are the real wealth and job creators, and the future of the state rests upon them. Therefore, she urged private business firms, entrepreneurs, and all stakeholders to come forward and avail themselves of the scheme to effect change and bring progress to society, aiming to place Nagaland among the top three states in the Northeast. Hekani also assured that the government and the department are ready to provide the best possible help and support to the business community.
Director of Industries and Commerce, P Tokugha Sema, in his opening remarks, emphasized that disseminating government policies to the masses, as well as convergence and collaboration with other departments and stakeholders, are crucial for implementing the UNNATI Scheme. He noted that if stakeholders do not know how to access funding from the government of India when opportunities arise, there will be no chance to progress in their businesses. He requested that stakeholders take an active interest and avail themselves of the scheme. Fazlur Kabir Borah, Consultant at Grant Thornton Bharat LLP Consultancy, Guwahati, highlighted the UNNATI Scheme in detail.
Detailed presentations were given by Penethung Lotha, Consultant at the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), and Vimeyiel Richa, Branch Manager at NEDFI, during an interactive session with line departments and stakeholders. The program was chaired by T Lemon Wangsha, Joint Director (Industries and Commerce), and K Francis Hekavi, Joint Director (Industries and Commerce), proposed the vote of thanks.
