Unstoppable Doyang Strikers march into finals after 4–0 win over Super Senior FC
Doyang Strikers FC (Black) defeated Super Seniors FC 4-0 in the first semifinal match of the MDFA Trophy 2025 on Wednesday.

The opening ten minutes saw the Strikers pinned back by a compact Super Senior defense. Midfielder Tzupong pressed relentlessly, making it difficult for Doyang to find their rhythm, while goalkeeper Nungsangyanger produced a fine save to deny Toka’s long-range effort from a free kick.

For the first twenty minutes, the Strikers struggled to slice through, but their persistence eventually paid off. Striker Horam led the charge up front, combining brilliantly with Yhoto Lohe and Ganghui while Yami, Somon and Toka dictated the tempo in midfield.

The breakthrough came in the 34th minute when Horam fired home to give Doyang the lead. Four minutes later, Lohe doubled the advantage with a composed finish, leaving Super Senior FC chasing the game at halftime.

The second half saw no let-up from the Strikers. Lohe netted his second in the 57th minute before Ganghui added a fourth just a minute later to seal an emphatic win.

With captain Benrithung marshaling the defense alongside Saronbemo, Pangersunep, and Zaremo, and goalkeeper Eshong with Sashi yet to be beaten, Doyang Strikers continue their flawless run, entering the finals as the only side in the tournament yet to concede a goal.

Doyang Strikers await either Telongjem FC or Chargers FC in the finals after the semi-final showdown on October 23, 2025.

Amidst the loss, Super Seniors FC provided an inspiring example for younger players. The squad included players in their 35+ and even 50s, yet their performance demonstrated that with discipline, and a lifestyle free from drugs and alcohol, they could still compete against younger opponents. The team has expressed their intention to return next year, health permitting, continuing to inspire through their dedication and love for the game.
