Managing Trustee of Nagaland Gandhi Ashram, Dr. Aotoshi met Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, GoI on August 30, 2022 at his office in Rail Bhavan, New Delhi and sought his support in upgradation of NIELIT through addition of more courses and creation of more and better infrastructure.
National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Chuchuyimlang was conceptualized as part of golden jubilee celebration of Nagaland Gandhi Ashram during the visit of Minister Ashwini to Chuchuyimlang in March 2004 when he was serving as PS to the then PM, Atal Behari Vajpayee.
Dr. Aotoshi told Mokokchung Times that he has also requested the minister to use his “good office” in reactivating Mahatma Gandhi Academy of Human Development at Chuchuyimlang, a centre for higher learning which is temporarily suspended due to disruption during COVID 19 pandemic.According to him, implementation of IT enabled rural livelihood programs was also discussed.
Furthermore, Dr. Aotoshi impressed upon the Minister for extension of passenger service up to Tuli which is being intermittently used for freight movement.
“The minister responded positively and assured of all possible help,” he said.
As a follow up on the discussions, Dr Aotoshi had another meeting with the Director General of NIELIT, Dr M. M. Tripathi the following day on August 31, 2022 which was held to give a proper shape and a timeline for all the proposed activities.
