Urban Company, in partnership with YouthNet, has launched a women-centric employment initiative aimed at creating career opportunities for young women from Nagaland in the beauty and wellness sector in Bengaluru, according to an update received here.
The program seeks to address youth unemployment while promoting women’s economic empowerment by offering professional training and assured job placements for female candidates aged 18 to 40 years.
Urban Company, formerly known as UrbanClap, is Asia’s largest home services platform, operating across India, the UAE and Singapore, the update said. The company offers services including beauty care, home cleaning, plumbing, carpentry and appliance repair, and says its vision is to empower service professionals through technology-driven home services.
According to the update, selected candidates will receive travel assistance to Bengaluru, two months of free professional training, complimentary accommodation with meals during the training period, a 100 per cent job placement guarantee, additional training support for those requiring more time, and medical insurance coverage of up to Rs 2 lakh.
The initiative also highlighted significant earning potential. After completing the training, participants are expected to earn between Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000 per month, depending on working hours. Those opting for extended work schedules may earn up to Rs 90,000-Rs 1 lakh or more per month. The company said payments will be credited three times a week to ensure regular cash flow.
To address concerns about women working away from home, Urban Company said the program incorporates multiple safety measures. These include a women-to-women service model, standard operating procedures for partner safety, an SOS feature on the partner application, customer verification before and during appointments, and the freedom for professionals to leave any assignment immediately if they feel unsafe.
The organisers said the initiative is intended to provide a structured pathway to sustainable employment for women in a state where formal job opportunities remain limited. By covering travel, training and accommodation costs, the program seeks to reduce financial barriers that often prevent young women from pursuing employment outside Nagaland.
