The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has extended its strong support to the Seyochung Village Students’ Union in their appeal to retain Thripongchum Sangtam, a Graduate Teacher (GT), at Government High School (GHS) Seyochung Village.

In a statement, the USSC highlighted that Thripongchum Sangtam was transferred to GHS Phesami on February 6, 2025, without a replacement. The organization expressed concern that this decision “has created a critical gap in the teaching faculty, severely disrupting students’ education.”

The students’ body also questioned the frequent transfers of teachers, pointing out that Thripongchum was posted to GHS Seyochung Village on February 28, 2024, only to be relocated again in less than a year. “Such abrupt and frequent transfers not only destabilize the school’s academic environment but also hinder the students’ learning progress,” the USSC stated.

Emphasizing the consequences of an unfilled vacancy, the USSC warned that “the absence of a qualified teacher will inevitably affect the quality of education, demotivating students and jeopardizing their future.”

Calling for immediate intervention, the USSC urged the concerned authorities to “revoke the transfer order of Mr. Thripongchum Sangtam at GHS Seyochung Village to ensure that the students receive the quality education they rightfully deserve”.
