The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has written to the Principal Director of School Education, Nagaland, through the Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, objecting to the transfer of teachers without relievers in schools under its jurisdiction.

In its representation, the USSC stated that “a number of teachers are being transferred from schools within the Sangtam jurisdiction without the appointment of relievers.” The conference said such “unfair practices… pose a serious threat to the academic progress and overall development of our students.”

While reiterating its earlier stance, the USSC said, “We earnestly urge your kind authority to address this matter with urgency and ensure that no teacher is transferred without a proper replacement in place.”

The conference further asserted that it “shall not permit the issuance of any release orders concerning the aforementioned teachers from the district.” It warned that if the Department undertakes actions “that contravene the position of the USSC, the conference reserves the right to initiate appropriate measures at its sole discretion in order to protect its rights and preserve the aspirations and welfare of its student communities.”

Holding the Department responsible for any fallout, the USSC added that the authorities must bear “full responsibility for any resulting consequences” and and urged the department to take necessary steps on a priority basis.
