USSC withdraws agitation after progress on Longkhim-Chare healthcare demands

The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has expressed gratitude to the Department of Health and Family Welfare for addressing healthcare concerns and demands raised by the people of the Longkhim-Chare area and has officially announced the withdrawal of its agitation.

The conference credited the intervention and leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for bringing the longstanding medical concerns of the region to the government’s attention. It said the positive developments had led to its decision to withdraw the agitation.

The USSC conveyed its appreciation to Health and Family Welfare Minister P. Paiwang Konyak, Advisor and MLA of 52 A/C Longkhim-Chare Sethrongkyu H. Sangtam, the Principal Director and Commissioner Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, the Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang and the Chief Medical Officer of Tuensang.

The conference also acknowledged the support extended by the United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP), AST, CASU, LDSU and other allied stakeholders and public organisations in advocating for the healthcare needs of the area.

The USSC also welcomed the incoming Senior Medical Officer and Medical Officers assigned to the region, expressing confidence that their presence and dedicated service would benefit the community.
