Mokokchung, 7 May (MTNews): A valedictory program for an Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Training organized by Skill Development Committee, Dimapur Government College (DGC) in collaboration with Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre (NTTC), Dimapur, was held on 6 May, at the Seminar Hall, DGC.
According to a press release received here, the program was attended by Principal and Vice- Principal of DGC, officials from NTTC, trainers from Kudatech Skill Centre, faculty of DGC and the students. The program was chaired by Lichom M Ezung, a trainee student of BA 6th Sem.
During the program, Course Coordinator, Dr G Phukato Sema, Assistant Professor, DGC gave a brief report of the training. The course was held in two batches, one from 13 to 23 February and the other from 30 March to 15 April with a total of 145 students successfully completing the training.
The course was offered for four different skills namely; Assistant Electrician, Fiber Extraction & Handicrafts, Post-Harvest Management of Fruits & Vegetables, and Solid Waste Management.
Epibeni Ezung, Assistant General Manager, NTTC expressed her appreciation to the college and also hoped for future collaboration with the Skill Hub of the college under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), New Delhi. She also highlighted the different courses offered by NTTC and how learning the different skills can be a career option for the youth.
PA Thomas, Course Director, from Kudatech Skill Centre congratulated the successful students and exhorted them by saying that they are now equipped and skilled to venture out in the world.
Prof Sanjay Sharma, Principal, DGC in his speech expressed his appreciation to NTTC for the courses offered and Kudatech Skill Centre for execution of the same. He also extended his gratitude to the trainers for the effort put in to better equip the students.
Eranpeni Yanthan, Trainer, Post-Harvest Management, shared her experiences and encouraged the students to take up skill learning seriously. Students of DGC- Eshen, BA 6th Semester, Nokmao Konyak, BA 6th Semester, H Linotoli Swu, BA 4th Semester and Limugha P Zhimo, BA 4th Semester also shared their experiences about the training in the respective skill trades. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Yingai Konyak, BA 6th Sem.
