Vanguard FC, Tseminyu, participating in the Lt. Capt. N Kenguruse MVC Memorial Football Trophy 2024, has lodged a formal complaint against unprofessional conduct by certain teams and individuals involved in the tournament. In a letter addressed to the Convenor of the Organizing Committee, the management of Vanguard FC expressed concerns over interference in team affairs, citing instances of disrespect towards participating clubs and players.

The club praised the tournament organizers for providing a valuable platform for Nagaland football but expressed disappointment at the behavior of some fellow participants. According to the complaint, interference from certain individuals led to the withdrawal of Naga FC from the tournament, despite their eligibility and preparedness. Vanguard FC noted that such actions created an unwelcoming environment, discouraging teams from fully participating in the event.

The issue escalated when Vanguard FC discovered that a player from their team, Mr. Japheth Kath, had been registered by the Western Sümi Sports Association without the club’s knowledge or consent. This, they stated, not only disrespected the club and the player but also went against the spirit of sportsmanship and proper football management.

Vanguard FC strongly condemned this interference and called for an end to such unprofessional behavior, highlighting the importance of mutual respect and professionalism among the participating teams. The club made it clear that they would not tolerate any further high-handedness or mishandling of player affairs, and urged the organizers to take necessary actions to maintain the integrity of the tournament.

The letter emphasized that Vanguard FC would not allow any of its registered players to be part of other teams without prior consent and requested the tournament organizers to ensure such incidents are addressed. The club expressed hope that this matter will be resolved in the best interests of the tournament and the growth of football in Nagaland.
