Congress fields Bendangkokba in 23-Impur AC
Mokokchung, February 6 (MTNews): The Congress party on Monday released its 3rd list of candidates for the ensuing 14th Nagaland Assembly Elections.
The party has in its 3rd list fielded Bendangkokba against NDPP’s TN Mannen in the 23-Impur assembly constituency. In the 45-Tehok assembly constituency, the Congress party has fielded Shaboh Konyak against NDPP’s CL John and NPF’s Er C Kawang Konyak.
With the release of the 3rd list, the Congress party now has a total of 27 candidates in the fray for the upcoming elections.
NPF’s Vikato S Aye joins the 4-Ghaspani-1 race
The Naga People’s Front has joined the Ghaspani-1 race by issuing their ticket to Vikato S Aye today. Aye will be contesting against Minister of PHED, Jacob Zhimomi of BJP; Akavi N Zhimomi of Congress and Imsumongba Pongen of JD (U).
With this, the NPF has so far issued 22 tickets for the ensuing General Election slated for 27 February 2023.
New party NEDF to back independent candidates
North East Democratic Front, which was launched officially on January 24, 2023 with the motto “power to the people”, has declared the list of the intending candidates that the party will back and support in the upcoming 14th NLA election.
The Independent candidates backed and supported by North East Democratic Front for the upcoming 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023 includes Kyupise Sangtam (59-Seyouchung-Sitimi AC); John Ovung (40-Bhandari AC); CN Yanchu (53-Tuensang Sadar 1 AC); Manpon Konyak (47-Aboi AC); C John Konyak (46-Mon Town AC); and Dr Tumda Newme (6-Tening AC).
“Out of the six intending candidates, C John Konyak is an ex-MLA,” the party informed through a press statement.
“Though a new party, NEDF is more than ready to set its foot in the upcoming election with the commitment to restructure Northeast and most importantly, our State, in the spirit of true democratic and responsible tiers of government so as to achieve a just equitable society. We hope that with these fresh faces in the political scene, we bring fresh perspective, ideas and a just ecosystem for the welfare of the public,” the party added.
