The Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program 2025, with the theme “Emergency Period in India”, was held at Jubilee Memorial College Hall, Aongza Ward, Mokokchung, on 6th August 2025. The event was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, National Service Scheme, and the Department of Political Science, JMC, in collaboration with the District Youth Resource & Sports Office, Mokokchung.

The program featured youth-centered competitions in Youth Parliament and Debate.
Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, graced the program as the Special Guest. In his address, he urged students to be true leaders with the determination to confront crises and lay a strong foundation for future generations. He highlighted the importance of the Indian Constitution, calling it “the apex legal document for the nation.” He also encouraged students to be curious and to strive to understand the structure of the political system, laws, and the Constitution. He stressed the value of fundamental rights and duties, and the role of diversity in shaping a strong and united nation.
In the Youth Parliament competition on the theme “Emergency Period in India”, the winners from the Ruling Bench were: First: Imlibenla, Second: Nikili and Third: Menangniba
From the Opposition Bench: First: Riya Dey, Second: Longcha, and Third: Wapangtola
In the Debate competition on the same theme, the winners were: First: Sashikumzuk, Second: Imnatula and Third: Sentipongla
The program was chaired by Chubaienla Imchen, HoD & Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. The welcome speech was delivered by Zhopovi Zecho, District Sports Officer, Mokokchung. A special song was presented by Samuel, a student of BA 3rd Semester. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Bendangwabang, HoD & Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science.
