A joint team comprising the Ao Senden, Langpangkong Tzukong Mungdang, Wamaken Village Council, Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), PWD (R&B) Tuli Division, and representatives of the contractor carried out an inspection of the Foothills Road on Monday, focusing on the 8.5 km re-alignment stretch at Wamaken Village under Mokokchung district.

According to the inspection team, the quality of workmanship carried out by M/s 35 Infra was found to be satisfactory. Officials noted that most of the construction had progressed as per expectations.

However, three of the nine culverts along the stretch remain incomplete. The team attributed the delay to the unusually late withdrawal of the monsoon, stating that the situation was “beyond human control.” In view of this, the concerned authorities have been requested to grant an extension of time to the contractor to complete the remaining works.

The team further appealed to the Government of Nagaland to expedite the issuance of the Work Order for the second phase of the Foothills Road project.

Meanwhile, the Ao Senden expressed gratitude to the PWD (R&B) Tuli Division for its continuous monitoring of the project. It also acknowledged the Wamaken Village Council for extending support and assistance to the firm, onsite workers, and staff throughout the construction period.
