Mokokchung, November 28 (MTNews): The Home Commissioner of the Government of Nagaland has asked the Commissioner of Nagaland to make immediate arrangements for deputing the Village Guards (VGs)in their traditional attire numbering about 20 personnel for each tribe, representing Konyak, Chang, Sangtam, Phom, Khiamniungan, Yimkhiung and Tikhir in order to participate at the State level function for Celebration of Statehood Day 2022 in Kohima on 1 December 2022 and also at Naga Heritage Village Kisama for the visit of the Vice-President of India and other dignitaries.
Further, each district has been asked to nominate one Nodal Officer for making the arrangements for sending the VG personnel to Kohima by 30th of November 2022.
The Vice President of India, Jagdish Dhankar, will be the chief guest of the inaugural program of Hornbill Festival 2022. A host of dignitaries from different states along with embassies of various countries are expected to attend the festival.
