Mokokchung Forest Division under Changtongya Beat in collaboration with the RD Department organized an event in celebration of World Environment Day on 1st of June, 2022 at Changtongya Beat Office, a departmental update said.
The event was attended by Village Council Chairman and VDB Secretary of all the Villages under Changtongya Beat. On account World Environment Day, about 500 polybag saplings were also distributed to all the villages.
A short message was delivered by Moamongba, Ranger, Changtongya highlighting the need and importance of an eco-friendly village on World Environment Day. After the event, they took Green Pledge with an aim to conserve water and energy, avoid use of polythene, segregate waste for recycling and plant trees during special occasions.
