The newly renovated ‘Vision Nagaland Hall’ at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima, was inaugurated by Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Dr J Alam, IAS, on Thursday, marking a significant step forward in upgrading the state’s training infrastructure for civil servants and government officers.

The event featured a ceremonial plaque unveiling and ribbon-cutting, followed by addresses from senior government officials and a technical briefing on the project’s execution.
In his keynote address, Dr J. Alam congratulated the ATI officials and engineering team for completing the project successfully despite budget constraints.
He emphasized the importance of creating modern facilities to host high-level training programs that often involve faculty and guests from national and international institutions.
“Human resource is the most precious resource of the state,” the Chief Secretary said, reiterating the need for continuous investment in training and capacity building.
He also praised the collaborative effort between ATI, the Finance and Planning departments, and PWD (Housing), calling it a model for future projects. “Timely release of funds and shared vision made this possible,” he said, assuring that the state government will continue supporting similar renovation initiatives at ATI.
Facility reborn after 15 years
Earlier in the program, Akunu S. Meyase, IAS, Director of ATI and Secretary for Economics & Statistics, welcomed the dignitaries and shared that the hall—originally built in 2008-2009—underwent a much-needed renovation in 2025 under the patronage of the Chief Secretary.
She reaffirmed ATI’s commitment to being a centre of excellence, highlighting that the institute regularly trains Nagaland Civil Service (NCS) and Nagaland Secretariat Service (NSS) probationers, heads of departments, and other government officers.
Built in 3 months, costing Rs 40 lakhs
A technical report was presented by Executive Engineer Er. Akule Pusa of PWD (Housing), who detailed the planning, design, and construction process. The project began on April 3, 2025, and was completed within three months at a cost of Rs 40 lakh. The renovated hall now accommodates 80 to 100 seats and is equipped with modern facilities.
