Wokha, December 10 (MTNews): The Wokha Circle Students’ Union (WCSU) on Saturday celebrated the 22nd general conference on a theme “Lothas hundred years from now” at Tiyi Hall, Wokha town with Dr. Chumben Murry, Advisor for Law and Justice and Chairman DPDB Wokha as the special guest.

Addressing the general conference, Murry said that the actual meaning will only be found when the youths and the students “go with the constant flow like river” focusing on the targets and goal with how and what they want to take the community paving way forward through clear vision and perception.

 

He reminded the congregation attending the conference to also look back on how the community came thus far. He encouraged the students’ community to ponder on the history of the past hundred years and to envision the life of ‘Lothas hundred years from now’.

 

He recalled how the Lothas and Nagas’ lives have evolved in a short time where the present generation has been “too modernized,” expressing that he felt that there is a gap in the present generation “adopting without reasoning” and called for the younger generation to have a clear perception.

 

He challenged the student community to “break the branding” of Naga community as Schedule Tribe and become a general class and stand to excel and compete with the mainland country. He highlighted the various agencies that hamper the progress of society, while informing the student community to become skillful and professional in various field so as that Nagaland is rescued from mass government job hunting.

 

Lichan Humtsoe, founder and CEO, Ete Coffee speaking on the theme informed the students to strive with perseverance and dedication so that the Lotha community becomes a “brand” globally. He also inspired the congregation on how he struggled to build Ete Coffee which is now standing “number two” in India as a brand.

 

He said that until the students who study the professional subjects join the field and execute the works, the Naga society will not progress. He called the congregation not to compare one another but to build an empire by helping one another and uplift one another so that the community progresses together.
