The Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) has expressed deep concern over the prevailing situation at the GPRN/NSCN (Unification) Khehoyi Camp and has strongly urged all individuals and groups involved to exercise restraint and maintain peace.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the WCH emphasized that this is a critical moment for the Nagas and called on all Naga Political Groups to prioritize dialogue over violence in resolving the issue. “We are at a juncture where the pursuit of peace and unity must remain our highest priority. We cannot afford to undermine the hard-earned progress in the Naga political settlement by resorting to bloodshed,” the Hoho stated.
Stressing the need for a peaceful resolution, the WCH highlighted the collective aspiration of the Naga people for lasting peace and urged all parties involved to refrain from actions that could escalate tensions. “Now is not the time for conflict. When the Nagas are yearning for peace, it is essential that the parties involved come together without the use of force to find a resolution that serves the greater good of the Naga people,” it said.
Further, the WCH called upon the leadership of the GPRN/NSCN (U) to set aside their differences and seek common ground in the interest of the Naga people. “We believe that, through the guidance of Almighty God, the leaders will find the strength, clarity, and understanding to navigate this crisis and lead the way toward peace,” the statement read.
