Dimapur, 6 November (MTNews): In response to the alarming surge in kidnapping incidents in recent times, the Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) has issued a vehement condemnation of this growing ‘culture’. The majority of these kidnappings, they observed, are driven by financial motives, with various groups demanding ransom payments. A recent incident that particularly incited outrage was the abduction of a local businessman in the state capital by an underground faction. The WSH has come forward to denounce such deplorable acts that have overtaken Naga society.
The WSH has called for transparency in revealing the identities of the groups or factions involved in these cases of extortion and kidnappings so that “people will know who are the ones that are going against the will of the people.” “Such continuous acts are going to invite public wrath in the coming days if those doing these despicable acts don’t restrain themselves and stop these kinds of anti-social acts that are jeopardizing the peaceful co-existence and harmony amongst the different communities,” the WSH added.
