The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) has conveyed its profound gratitude to Dr. H. Kalita, Joint Director, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Medziphema, for his generous initiative in supplying quality poultry chicks to the organization under the Tribal Sub Plan of ICAR Nagaland Centre. This support reflects ICAR’s continued commitment to promoting sustainable agricultural and allied activities across the state.

The supply of chicks is expected to significantly benefit farmers and rural households under the Western Sumi area by encouraging scientific poultry rearing, improving household income, and contributing to nutritional security. The initiative aims to serve as a catalyst for strengthening rural livelihoods and enhancing self-sufficiency in poultry production within the region.
The Western Sumi Hoho highly acknowledges and appreciates the efforts of the scientists, technical staff, and the entire team of ICAR Nagaland Centre for their proactive engagement and technical guidance in facilitating the distribution process. Their continued support and collaboration with community-based organizations like the WSH demonstrate a shared vision of empowering rural communities through technology transfer and capacity-building initiatives.
Reaffirming its support, the Western Sumi Hoho stated that it will continue to extend full cooperation to ICAR Nagaland Centre in its future endeavours for the welfare and development of the farming community. The Hoho expressed optimism that such collaborations will further strengthen ties between research institutions and local communities for the sustainable growth of agriculture and allied sectors in the state.
