The Western Yimkhiung Hoho has issued a restraining order to all members of the Yimkhiung community in light of the ongoing dispute between Lamhainamdi and Kiyevi villages. The order is intended to prevent any “untoward incidents” and to “curb any sort of misunderstanding that might otherwise hamper the cordial relationship” with the broader Naga community.

The Hoho emphasized that “the issue between the two villages is being monitored by the Government of Nagaland.” Therefore, any individual or group from the Yimkhiung community involved in the matter is advised to “abstain from any developmental activities and withdraw immediately from the affected/dispute area till further notice.”

The restraining order is to be treated with “utmost urgency and priority,” and any violations will be considered at the violator’s “own risk.” Furthermore, the Office of the Western Yimkhiung Hoho has warned that it will “initiate stern action against the erring individual or group” found disregarding the directive.
