Root’s Drop and Clear Delivery Service build trust in bringing clean water to households

In Mokokchung, where the demand for clean drinking water continues to grow, two local ventures are carving their space: Root’s Drop, a water brand owned by Impo Imchen, and Clear Delivery Service, run by Benjongnukshi.
Root’s Drop sources its water from the Tsü Tsü river at Tzü Paksa in Yimchalu, Sungratsü which according to the duo, are the same river system that supplies villages like Mopungchuket and Impur. Licensed by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the factory ensures that water goes through several stages of filtration, combining traditional and modern methods.
Imchen, who started the factory in September 2022, after years of struggling with job opportunities, described his decision as one born out of necessity. “I appeared for exam after exam but couldn’t get through. With my family’s support, I started this factory. Our water is fresh, and we ensure utmost care in handling. No matter what the season, the prices remain the same,” he said.
To bring the product closer to households, Clear Delivery Service distributes Root’s Drop across Mokokchung town. The service currently supplies 85–90 outlets, including schools, churches, and shops, while also delivering directly to customers.

“It has been about 8–9 months since I started this business. Now, I want to work on expanding it by catering to home delivery services,” said Benjongnukshi. He added that his team is working on a website, app, and real-time tracking system to make the service more convenient.
While Root’s Drop remains its main partner, Clear Delivery Service has begun experimenting with other delivery needs, with an eye on future expansion beyond Mokokchung town.
For now, the collaboration reflects a growing trend in Mokokchung — where individuals are creating solutions from within the community to meet every day needs.
