Fair to run till January 5; Giant wheel, tora-tora and more attractions available
The Winter Mela began on December 5 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung and will continue till January 5, with daily timings from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The event was inaugurated by Marepkong Ward MMC Councillor, Repanungla.
Organised by the Lanpangshujang Cooperative Society, this year marks the 24th edition of the annual fair.
Speaking to Mokokchung Times, Sutsüngkaba, Chairman of the Society, said this is the 24th year they are bringing the mela to Mokokchung. “Every year, Mokokchung turnout has been good,” he said. He also appreciated the people of Mokokchung for being “calm” and “disciplined,” and expressed hope that the same amount of support will continue.
The mela features a range of attractions including a giant wheel, break dance, tora-tora, dragon train and more.
