The Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF) has issued an urgent public appeal concerning the disappearance of Pesha Khiamniungan, a nineteen-year-old student of Class Eleven at United Christian Higher Secondary School, Diphupar.

According to an official First Information Report registered at Diphupar Police Station on the twenty-eighth of May, Pesha has been missing since the afternoon of the twenty-fourth of May. He left home around one o’clock in the afternoon to meet friends and never returned. He was last seen riding a red scooty bearing registration number AS-12-G-6685, and his phone has been unreachable since Saturday evening.

Despite the family’s best efforts and the involvement of the police, no progress has been reported in tracing his whereabouts. This lack of leads is raising growing concern, not only for the family but also for the wider community.

The WNYF has urged the Nagaland Police, especially the Diphupar Police Station, to intensify their investigation and deploy all necessary resources, including cyber tracing and surveillance, to ensure his safe recovery. They have also appealed to all residents, youth groups, and civil societies across Chümoukedima and Dimapur districts to assist with any information or sightings that may help locate the missing boy.

Furthermore, local media houses have been requested to amplify this case in the interest of public safety and child protection.

Highlighting the importance of community responsibility, the youth front stated that the safety of every young person in society must be a collective effort. They appealed to everyone’s conscience to come forward with any information that could assist in finding Pesha and to contact the Diphupar Police Station or reach out directly to his family at the phone numbers provided.

The youth front also cautioned that with increasing reports of missing children in the state, it is crucial that the public remain alert and vigilant. They urged people not to remain indifferent but to act swiftly and stand united for the safety of children in the community.
